Job Description

Our client is a successful, full-service accounting practice in MetroWest Boston providing a wide range of financial services from basic accounting functions to full-scale tax preparation to highly specialized financial management services.

Clients range from individuals to large-sized international companies. These companies can be associations, high tech start-ups and medical products manufacturers.



  • Preparation of detail trial balances and adjusting journal entries for numerous businesses in a variety of industries
  • Take responsibility for monthly compilations of financial statement

  • Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts

  • Prepare reconciliations of income statement accounts, such as payroll, payroll taxes, rents, professional fees, and taxes

  • Compilation and review of financial statement reports

  • Audits and reviews of internal controls

  • Assist with compliance of internal managerial policies, contracts, and agreements

  • Prepare state sales and use tax returns

  • Prepare federal excise tax returns

  • Prepare projections, forecasts, and budgets, as well as prepare analysis of variances

  • Ability to correspond with clients on various matters

  • Preparation of complex individual and business income tax returns, for corporations, partnerships, sole proprietors, trusts, and non-profit organizations

  • Prepare applications for extension of filing individual and corporate income tax returns

  • Research complex tax and accounting issues and then make clear and concise conclusions

  • Prepare projections of federal and state tax liabilities for businesses and individuals

  • Preparation of current and deferred tax provisions

  • Develop creative solutions to client problems and recommend individually tailored tax planning strategies

  • Take responsibility for all phases of an assignment including planning, compliance, and review


  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
  • Proven ability to work and focus in a fast-paced, results based, and quality service environment
  • Strong supervisory skills and the ability to review the work of others is a high priority
  • Contributes to team effort and maintains individual work
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills are essential Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills are essential

  • Consult and contribute to projects from inception to conclusion
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional growth required
  • Possess a working knowledge of some (if not all) of the following software programs: Profx System Tax, Microsoft Word, Excel, Sage 50 Accounting (formally Peachtree Accounting), Creative Solutions Accounting, and QuickBook.
