  • Maintain company books and records and provide support for end of month close including recording standard journal entries and reconciling GL accounts for pre-paids, inventory, fixed assets, accruals, deferred revenue and taxes payable
  • Monitor materials purchased and ensure proper coding by project
  • Reconcile company cash accounts and prepare and post journal entries for cash transactions
  • Manage accounting for credit card transactions and record to GL
  • Apply revenue recognition accounting rules and manage deferred revenue and cost schedules
  • Audit and process expense reports
  • Process company payroll with ADP
  • Maintain and manage project level time tracking system and prepare payroll labor distribution entry
  • Allocate revenue and expenses in accordance with grants and contract terms
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of commercial contracts and grants data and maintain accurate and complete electronic and hard copies of commercial contracts and grants
  • Ensure timeliness regarding reporting deadlines and follow through on all commercial contracts and grants
  • Provide monthly budget to actual reports for program managers
    • Corporate financial reporting
    • Commercial reporting
    • Grant reporting
  • Assist with providing forecasts of revenue and expenses related to commercial contracts and grants
  • Prepare sales and use tax returns and ensure timeliness regarding reporting deadlines
  • Assist with preparation for annual external financial statement audit



  • BS\BA degree in accounting or finance with 3+ years’ experience in an accounting role
  • Advanced accounting skills, experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Combination of Finance and Project Management experience preferred
  • Federal contract accounting (DCAA, FAR or CAS knowledge a plus)
  • Computer proficiency with basic productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google docs)
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, v lookup, sumifs, graphing) and Powerpoint skills
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and solutions-oriented approach
  • Self-starter, capable of working both independently and as part of a fast moving team
  • A very sharp quick learner, attentive, asks questions and follows through
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to deliver on multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
